Annual Report 2025

Strategy and long-term financial targets

Our strategy focuses on driving sustainable growth in industrial measurements and weather intelligence, while sustaining our global leadership in weather observation technology. It turns our purpose, Taking every measure for the planet, into a clear focus: enabling climate action for businesses and societies worldwide. We provide the insights that help our customers make mission-critical decisions in the most challenging conditions.

Vaisala strategy 2026

We build our strategy on four main success drivers:

Customer understanding and commercial excellence

Our technologies are based on a thorough understanding of our customers' needs, in applications from industrial processes and life science to meteorology, defense and renewable energy.

We work continuously with customers to help them optimize their processes for efficiency, quality and compliance, and to enable businesses and societies to operate with resilience in conditions that are increasingly uncertain.

Product and technology leadership

We invest strongly in our growth markets to provide customers with instruments and intelligence in areas where reliability and accuracy over time matters the most. In 2025, Vaisala's R&D investments were 11% of net sales.

Excellence in supply chain

Our offering includes hundreds of product families and thousands of products, and we serve customers in over 150 countries. This requires excellence and agility throughout our supply chain and operations, and we continuously develop scalable ways of working.

Purpose-driven culture and talent

Our motivated and talented employees are a key factor behind our success, and we continue developing our culture. We aim to enhance the well-being and personal growth of our people and build a diverse and inclusive community. We encourage pioneering, curious, and committed cultural behaviors.

The world we operate in

Three long-term megatrends shape the challenges our customers face and the opportunities ahead of us.

Energy transition and decarbonization continue to reshape customer needs. Renewable-heavy energy systems, industrial decarbonization, electrification, and more complex power infrastructure all call for accurate measurement, monitoring, and optimization.

AI everywhere captures how artificial intelligence is becoming part of products, processes, and everyday work. It is changing how industries make decisions, how work is organized, and how value is created from data. For Vaisala, this means both new opportunities in what we offer customers and new ways to improve how we work across the company.

Resilient societies reflect a world that's grown harder to predict. Climate extremes, geopolitical uncertainty, and safety-critical infrastructure all raise the need for reliable data and sound decisions under pressure.

Vaisala's instruments and intelligence sit at the center of all three shifts.

Strategic priorities to turn focus into progress

We have identified four strategic priorities for execution to both strengthen our market leadership and expand into new markets with growth opportunities.

Expand and accelerate in industrials

We strive to capture more of the growth potential in applications such as data centers, semiconductors, and power, while continuing to strengthen our position in the industrial markets where we already hold strong positions.

Lead in weather across observations and insight

We extend our position as the global number one in weather technology, across the full chain, from the sensors behind reliable observations to the data and insight customers act on.

Grow recurring revenue

We build more of our business on software and services that customers rely on continuously, creating steady value for them and more predictable and stable revenue for Vaisala.

Transform with AI

We use AI both inside our own operations and in what we build for customers. That means improving how we work, strengthening how we create value, and building new capabilities into our products and services.

Long-term financial targets

Our long-term financial targets are:

  • Average sales growth 7%
  • Systematically improving EBITA %
  • Maintain strong cash conversion over time

Vaisala does not consider the long-term financial targets as market guidance for any given year.
